Our History

Our founder, John J. Lanigan, Sr. knew that his vision of a company that held customer satisfaction above all else could only be achieved by the best trained employees in the industry. He also knew that the best trained employees would be the most motivated and the most valuable performers. That’s why Mi-Jack, where service is golden has always set the gold standard for training.

As a pillar in the material handling community, the focus of Mi-Jack Products on service to our clients has grown to include more than equipment sales & services. With the completion of the John J. Lanigan, Sr. Training Academy, we continue to honor our commitment to our clients by providing the highest level of technical training possible.

The Academy owes much of its success to the dedication and vision of Mark Rocque, enlisted early on to bring Jack Lanigan Sr.’s dream to life. Starting with an empty warehouse, Mark transformed the space into a state-of-the-art training center. His meticulous attention to detail shaped everything from the floor plans to the course content, and he personally selected a team that shared his passion for learning and education.

As the Academy’s first Director of Technical Training & Publications, Mark was instrumental in laying the foundation for the John J. Lanigan, Sr. Training Academy’s programs. His expertise in instructional design, combined with his remarkable ability to inspire and teach, set the standard for excellence. Mark’s contributions have left a profound and enduring impact on the Academy, ensuring that his legacy will continue to guide future generations.

Instructors were very knowledgeable, they explained everything in detail and moved at a good pace and were willing to go back if needed. This is a good steppingstone to learn more about other equipment and how they operate in the field and for me to be able to advance in my career.

The most growth and knowledge I learned and appreciate is the Hydraulic portion. In all honesty, I never read or looked at a hydraulic schematic. The class taught me things I did not know pertaining to hydraulic. Electrical class took me down to the basics and reminded me of things I forgot.

Visual aids and training aids were very clear and helpful, giving a much easier way to understand the actual uses for Hydraulic and Electrical applications on a wide range of equipment.

This is a top notch training facility and extremely happy I was able to attend. The instructors were very knowledgeable and broke down all the material to make it very easy to learn and comprehend all schematics and symbols. Also making our own electrical and hydraulic circuits made it very helpful to retain the information that was taught during the class.

The application of the definitions and symbols helped to reinforce what we learned. Things such as drawing circuits on the board and wiring up a circuit on a panel were very helpful. I am excited to apply what I learned in class to my job to make clearer and better decisions.

Smaller groups were way easier to focus in and was nice to spend more time on each subject. Splitting up electrical and hydraulic was one of the best things you guys could have done. Way easier to follow learning one subject at a time, looking forward to the next hydraulic class.
